I have just started on my first sweater. I work on it every day and I have to say, I'm addicted. The fact that I don't have to carry a pair of scisors in my bag as i'm working on it beacause the fact that I will finnish it in the 2-6 hours that I'm out of the house is so small that I don't bother. I'm so happy with the sweater that I am knitting. It's the Textured Tunic with Side Buttons out of Fitted Knits by Stefanie Japel on page 102. It's beutiful. The box stitch in the middle is done in a handdyed yarn in greens. The body is a forest green heather. I have gotten so many compliments that I can't wait to finnish and wear it.
I have started to plan and save up for my next sweater. This one is for my little sister out of the same book. It's the Back to School u neck vest on page 82 with a couple of varriations. There is going to be a steek up the front beacause she wants a cardigan. I'm also going to pick up the stiches at the neckline and make a hood.
I have also developed my own opinion about where I am going to buy yarn from now on. I got the yarn for this one at Ewe First Yarn Co. in Wasilla. It was fantastic in there, there were so many yarns that I wanted to scoop them all up. But I can't, I'm on a tight budget. $15 every other week budget. Ouch, so you see why I haven't started yet? Well, I had a little saved up and my dad was kind enough to pay for the rest. Even with a $12 credit, it cost me $40! AHHHHH! So now I know where to go. Knit Picks. The shipping is expensive, but it's worth it for a sweater project. It would have cost me $16 to make the exact sweater in the excact gauge with a different heather. So my little sisters sweater is going to be in shine worsted in the color reef. That is costing me $18, not bad. It's cotton so she can wash it and I won't cry when it gets thrown in the wash. She will love it.
